The Imagine Madison team has been busy wrapping up Phase 1 and preparing for Phase 2. A big thank you to everyone who participated in Phase 1 and helped us identify what the important issues are in Madison and what goals we should pursue as a community to address these issues.
Phase 2 Community Meetings
In Phase 2 of Imagine Madison we will be exploring what specific strategies we as a community should consider to help us achieve the goals we’ve identified in Phase 1. We’ll also be updating the map that guides city growth.
We're doubling the number of community meetings for Phase 2. We hope you can join ust at one of the meetings below:
- April 25 at Warner Park Community Recreation Center (Facebook Event)
- April 27 at Cherokee Heights Middle School (Facebook Event)
- May 1 at Central Library (Facebook Event)
- May 3 at La Follette High School (Facebook Event)
The schedule is the same for each meeting:
- 6:00-6:30pm Open House
- 6:30-7:45pm Presentation and Small Group Activities
We'll be discussing:
- How should the city grow and change?
- What steps should we take to achieve the goals for our community?
Refreshments and childcare will be provided. Spanish and Hmong interpreters will be at each meeting.
Phase 1: What We Heard
We’ve received a lot of feedback in response to the draft goals presented to the public starting in December. Go here to see all the feedback we’ve received. Based on the feedback we received, we’ve made changes to the goals to reflect community priorities.
Hip Hop Architecture (and Planning) Camp
We collaborated with Michael Ford, the Hip Hop Architect and Madison College instructor, to use the Imagine Madison process to connect with young people of color to develop ideas for Madison’s future and get them interested in architecture and planning. Check out the mini-documentary and music video from the Hip Hop Architecture Camp here.
Planning Pop-Ins
Is your group looking for a topic or speaker for an upcoming meeting? We're always looking for opportunities to share information about Imagine Madison and hear your ideas. If you'd like City Planning Staff to atend your group's meeting, please contact us.
Please share this message widely within your networks. Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Twitter. Hope to see you all at one of the community meetings!
